A very effective way of making more money online, or starting to, starts with having your own website, or blog. There are plenty of ways to create your own website. If you have never done it before, I strongly suggested you use Weebly.com to create your own website in minutes (get some content written and saved to your hard drive first!). It is free, features an easier to use drag-and-drop, copy-and-paste way of building your site. You can even do this without buying a domain name – they will host it for you and your address would like like this: www.mysite.weebly.com

BUT, if you are serious about using search engines to drive masses of free traffic to your site, a WordPress.org blog, hosted on your own server, gives you ultimate control and the ability to quickly build a website or blog that the search engines will love. The most technically challenging part of being able to do this is actually hosting you domain and installing the wordpress platform onto your domain and server. Once you have done that, the WordPress back office, or dashboard, is very user friendly and lets you create pages and posts very easily. AND its free.

So I put together these two videos to show you exactly how to get set up. I have skipped out actually buying a domain and a hosting package. For that, go to GoDaddy.com and buy a .com domain for under $10.

Then go to Hostgator.com and buy the basic hatchling package, starting at $4.95 a month.

However, there are alternative income possibilities available in the information age that we now live in. It is possible for anyone to achieve this in 4 steps.

1.    The first thing you need to do is find the vehicle that will help you realise your potential in being able to generate a six figure income. I am going to use the example of internet marketing as it is the industry that I am personally involved in and therefore know that this is a realistic goal to achieve. You don’t want to market something of low value. Investing in an opportunity that can be marketed for a higher value will make your task a lot easier.

2.    Secondly, you need to seek out other people who are both already involved in the industry and successful at it at the same time. As a general point, by surrounding yourself with successful individuals, you will yourself become more successful. This is a proven fact. By feeding your mind with ambition, you will become increasingly more successful and you do this by associating yourself with other people who have already achieved what you are searching for.

3.    Thirdly, copy the things that successful people do in order to become successful yourself. Duplication is the key word here. When you want to achieve something in the shortest amount of time possible, you find out how someone else did it and then do exactly what they did. Find someone to work with and learn from to achieve your goals.

4.    Finally, you need to implement everything that you learn from that successful individual. No-one is going to do the work that is required for you. In any industry or entrepreneurial venture, work is required to achieve success. This final stage is where most people fall down. For some reason they struggle to actually take action themselves and put into practice the things that they have learned.

By following these 4 steps, you will be able to achieve a six figure income online within six months. The internet marketing industry can give you an alternative income that, with dedication and hard work, can be used to achieve what might at first have seemed impossible to do.

Clickbank.com is a website that acts as a marketplace for product vendors and potential affiliates. As an affiliate, you choose which product, or products, you want to promote in order to make a commission on any sales that you refer. To promote a product you first need to sign up.

Signing up as an affiliate at Clickbank is easy. All you need to do is follow the on-screen prompts on the home page. Enter you name and address and any other details requested. These are required, and fill them out accurately, as Clickbank will need to know where to send you your checks for payments due to you.

You will also need to choose a nickname for yourself. How you go about choosing this is entirely up to you but take the following into account. You may not want to use your real name. There is nothing wrong with doing this; if you want to get yourself known as an authority who personally recommends the products that you promote, then go for it.

Just consider that if you are sticking to a particular category of products, or niche, then your nickname might want to reflect this. For example, if you are promoting health and fitness products, you might want your nickname to be “marathonman” or “fitforlife”. You get the idea.

Once you are signed up, you can start making money online. Just go to the Marketplace tab at the top of the page and search for a product to promote. You can check out the sales page first if you want to by clicking on the title of the product. If you don’t like the look of it and don’t want to put your name to it, then choose another one.

There are a few things to look out for to make sure you are promoting a successful product. Firstly, look at the gravity statistic. This is an indication of how popular the product is. Anything over 75% and you should be fine. The other statistic to check for is percentage referred. This shows the percentage of sales referred by an affiliate. A high score means affiliates are doing well with this product, so you will as well.
